Trauma and critical care surgeons provide highly organized, rapid treatment of serious injury or shock.  UPH trauma surgeons work with other UPH specialty surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, trauma nurses and therapists to quickly treat and stabilize patients involved in major traumatic injuries.

Trauma and critical care surgeons are also an integral part of the only Level 1 trauma facility in Southern Arizona at University Medical Center, ranked as one of the best in the country in several key outcomes including patient survival and shorter lengths of stay.  Here, the trauma team provides nationally acclaimed services to over 4,500 injured patients per year.
