109 UPH Physicians are Selected as Best Doctors in America
Best Doctors in America recently listed 109 University Physicians Healthcare doctors in its latest database, released in April, 2007.
“It is a tribute to the quality of our care that so many of our physicians are considered by other doctors as the best in their fields,” said Norm Botsford, president and CEO of University Physicians Healthcare. “These are the physicians who other doctors recognize and turn to for themselves and their families.”
Each year Best Doctors, Inc. publishes a database identifying physicians who other physicians consider the best in their specialties, including primary care physicians. Best Doctors commissions an independent peer-review survey of medical professionals that asks, “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, to whom would you refer them?” As many as a million peer evaluations are reviewed, and detailed physician profiles are created for the database. The doctors are then screened for licensing, certification requirements and any disqualifying disciplinary actions. The Best Doctors database is used to link individuals with serious illnesses with doctors most experienced in that specialty.
